Mindfulness

Mindfulness is defined as becoming conscious or aware. It is a mental state that achieves focus on the present moment, with calm acknowledgement of the past and future possibilities.

The aim of this course is to help equestrians become mindful about their equine interactions and their influence on their equine's behavior. This encourages more constructive decision making.

This course details key concepts like constructiveness, common biases, and evidence-based approaches. Easy-read content allows equestrians to gain an understanding of each concept, as well as the benefits and limitations of each. Through use of examples, they learn to recognize and identify these concepts in daily conversations and in-depth discussions. All together, these skills allow for mindful interpretation of information and mindful, constructive communication.

In this course...

1.0 - Being Constructive

2.0 - Common Biases

3.0 - An "Evidence-Based" Approach
